Auditions
Auditions for 2011-12 are closed for this season.
Auditions for 2012-2013 will be held on Saturday, May 19 and Saturday, June 2, 2012.
Auditions for Choraleers, Chorus, Chorale, and Concert choirs at Rosewood Arts Centre (2655 Olson Drive, Kettering) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ages 8-18 are welcome. Auditions for Cappella, the regional high school college prep choir will be at Wright State University's Creative Arts Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, please call Dr. James Tipps (937)775-3722.
Membership
The Choir is meant to be a positive learning experience for the singers, one that they will carry with them throughout their lifetime. The members of the Choir should learn the meaning of "commitment" and "responsibility". They should feel a sense of pride at being in this very special Choir and not take their membership lightly. Enrollment in KCC is for the season which begins in August and generally concludes with the Spring Concert. Each member is expected to remain active and committed to the program for the entire term. These young people will be sharing some wonderful times together both musically and socially.
Auditions
Open auditions for the KCC will be held on May 19 and June 2, 2012, for new singers entering the organization and for singers preparing to move to the next Choir level. Material covered in these audition includes:
Chorus
- Pitch matching, independence on singing a round, and some skill in note reading.
- Rehearsals are on Tuesdays 4:45-6:15 at Rosewood Arts Centre
- Tuition: $375
- Uniforms: Girls - $90; Boys - Approx. $50 (suggest Herles)
Chorale
- Pitch matching, use of solfege syllables, independence on singing a round, and intermediate skills in note reading.
- Rehearsals are on Tuesdays 5:15-7:00 at Rosewood Arts Centre
- Tuition: $375
- Uniforms: Girls - $90; Boys - Approx. $50 (suggest Herles)
Concert Choir
- Reading from an actual score of Concert Choir music, and tonal memory.
- Rehearsals are on Tuesdays 4:20-5:40 at Rosewood Arts Centre
- Tuition: $375
- Uniforms: Girls - $90; Boys - Approx. $50 (suggest Herles)
Cappella
- Rhythm, tonal memory, melodic reading, and ensemble blend.
- Rehearsals are on Tuesdays 5:45-7:15 at Wright State University
- Tuition: $375
- Uniform: Girls - $90; Boys - Tuxedo rental/purchase. One or more tours per year.
