The Kettering Children’s Choir will present their Spring Concert, “A Celebration of Flight,” on Wednesday, April 17 at the Schuster Center in downtown Dayton! Songs like “Butterfly” and the Beatles’ popular “Blackbird” will highlight flight as found in nature, while songs like “The Heavenly Aeroplane”, “Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine”, and the combined closer, “High Flight”, will celebrate the pride of Dayton: aviation. In addition, the KCC will show off its classical roots with performances of Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” and selections from Rutter’s “Mass of the Children”, accompanied by the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra led by Dr. Patrick Reynolds. Other featured guests include the incomparable vocal soloist and Dayton-favorite Felita LaRock, an exceptional brass quintet called BeavercreekBrass that will be playing patriotic tunes, and both Stephen Wright, great-grandnephew of the Wright brothers, and Mark Armstrong, son of Neil Armstrong. If you’re going to miss a KCC concert, don’t let it be this one! Tickets ($12, $8 seniors, students and military) are available from ticketcenterstage.com
